VICE’s Take on Fukushima Presents Haunting Reminder of Underreported Tragedy

The Fukushima nuclear power plant is one of the most underreported stories when you consider that it is still going on, still a problem, and quite possibly, radiation has already made its way into the West Coast of the United States.  That’s being optimistic, of course.  It’s a relative certainty.  The Earth is not made of little Earth’s; we live on one planet where when anything on the global scale happens, it, well, happens globally.  Fukushima is one of those moments frozen in time that we might not truly understand the severity of until years down the road.  In any case, Vice’s ventures alongside a photographer into what’s left behind at Fukushima paint an eerie picture of what was once a normal community.  Just like the one you probably are living in right now.
