When the Secret Service isn’t busy having parties with prostitutes, they do actually try to protect the President of the United States. Every sitting president has his share of threats against him, and President Barack Obama is no exception. The Secret Service is very proactive and aggressive in investigating these situations. However, when someone goes to give a speech and publicly threaten to kill the president, it makes their jobs significantly easier. Rock musician and avid gun rights activist Ted Nugent recently addressed the National Rifle Association with some disturbing comments about the Commander-in-Chief.
“I’ll tell you right now: If Barack Obama becomes the president in November, again, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year. We need to ride into that battlefield and chop their heads off in November. Any questions? If the coyote’s in your living room, pissing on your couch, it’s not the coyote’s fault. It’s your fault for not shooting him.”
The Secret Service has acknowledged the incident and said that they are in the process of reviewing the matter.
While Ted certainly has a way with words, it’s pretty clear he might have got a little carried away on this one. Hopefully the Secret Service will confiscate his flaming arrows he famously shot on stage before he manages to use one on our president. Everyone has a right to an opinion, but comments like this, whether serious or not, are completely inappropriate. Threatening anyone is definitely crossing the line, and threatening the president in a public forum is just utterly stupid.
Anyone wonder who Ted’s voting for in the election?
