A lot of news sources are tossing around a big announcement that the hacker group Anonymous made that seems to indicate that they have some knowledge that NASA is preparing to reveal to the world the existence of aliens. As is their pattern, they offer up little evidence as to how they came across this information, but only speculation. We do that here all the time, but we don’t present things as fact, or make the audience think that we have some kind of inside track that doesn’t really exist. In any case, we have said that the government might be preparing for something like this for the last several years. It seems that each time NASA unveils a big announcement, it has something to do with the search for life out there, and major discoveries in exoplanets as well as increased interest in some moons right here in our own solar system have only stoked the fire.
Anonymous makes it sound like NASA is about to tell us that aliens exist, UFOs are everywhere, and we might want to prepare for some sort of Independence Day Hollywood catastrophe. The truth is, if NASA did make such an announcement, it most likely wouldn’t be anything like that. It only takes discovering one carbon footprint or one single-celled organism out there for NASA to claim a universe-shaking discovery. They would never tell us if they found little green men, but it is conceivable that they might consider telling us that they found less exciting life forms out there. From a conspiracy perspective, one reason the government might want to go ahead with revealing this information has to do with the religious implications. Many scientists consider discovering life outside of planet Earth to be irrefutable evidence that there is no God and science has it right. There are plenty in the shadow government and New World Order types that would love to see this set off religious debate. Of course, most religions are at least somewhat prepared for this, saying things like God certainly could have handled more than just the Earth. There would also be plenty in conspiracy circles that would question the authenticity of such claims. How can we be sure that we haven’t transported life from Earth to another location (if it was found somewhere where we had already sent something that may have compromised the area)? Also, do we trust them in the first place? We have plenty of people that write in all of the time still questioning the moon landing and whether it is a hoax. So, while NASA and the mainstream media may represent this as irrefutable evidence, that doesn’t mean it won’t be questioned and debated. In any case, it would be interesting for sure. We will continue to monitor this and weigh in if such an announcement should actually occur.
