This video results from an interesting investigation into the supposed rogue planet Nibiru that many believe is currently barreling toward Earth. It turns out that the coordinates of some celestial objects that have been labelled as possibly being Nibiru come up to a completely empty area of sky when entered into Google Sky, a complement to Google Earth that allows viewers to explore the nighttime sky. Fascinated, I decided to confirm this on my own. The video is absolutely correct. If you use these coordinates in Google Sky, the program automatically centers in on the region you requested. At this point, nothing seems to be amiss. However, as it zooms in, it is designed to look as if the blacked-out region of the sky is perfectly natural (even though a starless region of that size is unlikely anyway). It’s not until you zoom out a little bit that you clearly see that a black box has been placed over the region.
I had to admit, it seemed pretty interesting to view it for myself. We at Common Sense Conspiracy always look further. My next step, I decided, was to see what other sources had to say on the
matter. Another popular online program to view the nighttime sky is WikiSky. So, I took the same coordinates over there and did a new search. Adding to the mystery, WikiSky featured the blacked-out region of sky as well. As a matter of fact, it is exactly the same. You can even see where a bright star at the bottom of the black box was cut off. Always one to be thorough, I tried a third source. Microsoft’s World-Wide Telescope is yet another online sky-exploring program. I entered the magical coordinates and once again was greeted with the mysterious box. Now that’s three sources all with that region of the sky blacked out.
At first glance, this does seem a lot like a cover-up or conspiracy of some kind. Just what is behind the black box at the coordinates 5h 53m 27s -6 10′ 58? One fundamental problem I had with this was the black box itself. We’ve all seen what can be done with special effects in Hollywood movies, and we all have witnessed the magic of Photoshop where popular celebrities have been edited very realistically. So, if this massive conspiracy between Google and NASA to conceal this region of the sky that supposedly contains the planet Nibiru were indeed true, don’t you think they have the capability to do better than simply throwing a black box over the area in every major sky map program. Wouldn’t it be much easier to create a panel to put over the region by using other pieces of the nighttime sky and simply pasting it into to cover up what you didn’t want the public to see? One of the most interesting things we here at Common Sense Conspiracy have noticed during the past several months of intense speculation about the comet Elenin’s approach is the striking similarities it shares with another
famous comet, Hale-Bopp. Dubbed the “Great Comet of 1997,” Hale-Bopp was one of the brightest ever seen. In fact, it was visible by naked eye for a staggering eighteen days. Like Elenin, it was discovered by amateur astronomers in 1995. The names of these two skywatchers is the name of the comet. To illustrate just how much these guys were amateurs, consider that Bopp didn’t even own a telescope. Bopp found the comet by viewing it with the naked eye and then comparing it to star charts to eventually conclude that it was indeed a comet. Astronomers quickly did the math on Hale-Bopp and determined that it would reach perihelion (the point in its orbit when it is closest to the Sun) on April 1st, 1997. It was predicted that the comet would be exceptionally bright, and when the day of reckoning arrived, Hale-Bopp exceeded expectations.
Like Elenin today, the two years between Hale-Bopp’s discovery and the date of perihelion were met with much paranoia. The year after it was discovered, another amateur astronomer, Chuck Shramek of Houston, Texas, studied the comet extensively and eventually took a CCD (charge-coupled device) image of it. CCD digital imaging is a major development in this technology that allows much more exposure of light in a photograph than normal equipment. The results set off a wave of hysteria; the comet was accompanied by an elongated object. Shramek used computer programs to cross-check this finding with star maps and found it to be an unknown object travelling along with comet Hale-Bopp. He then proceeded to call in to the Coast to Coast AM radio show (a program that frequently deals with subject matter such as this) and reported to a national listening audience the presence of a “Saturn-like” object tagging along with the comet. Much like today’s adventures with Elenin, the UFO community quickly pounced on the finding and declared that an alien spacecraft was accompanying the comet dangerously close to Earth. Well, folks, time for today’s comet Elenin update. As many of you are aware, today, September 26th, is the beginning of one of the alignments of Elenin that was most prominently featured in some of the doomsday predictions that have been circulating on the web for months. Today, even as we speak, the comet is passing between the Earth and the Sun. As of 5:10 P.M. Central Standard Time, the comet’s trajectory has had no recorded effects on the Earth, as we here at Common Sense Conspiracy have long expected. To be fair, this may not mean that all the theories were incorrect; in fact, the comet Elenin has disintegrated so much over the past month that it is quite possible that it simply isn’t large enough to cause some of the problems that were forecast. In any case, the comet will soon have completed its dance between the Earth and the Sun and be on to its next destination (which no doubt will result in a whole new conglomeration of theories and predictions).
There were three recorded earthquakes during the last twenty-four hours. None of them were over 6.0 magnitude which is what seismologists refer to as a “significant event.” In fact, the three earthquakes were quite normal, and many days feature more of these small tremors than today.
For those interested in some facts about comets in general, the comet Elenin’s tail always points directly away from the Sun. So, as it approaches the Sun, the tail will indeed be pointed at the Earth, but due to the disintegration of the comet and the simple fact that it is quite a large distance away from us, the tail poses no danger. Most likely it never did, regardless of Elenin’s composition. These fun facts are courtesy my old Introduction to Astronomy textbook I had to dust off after retrieving from the closet.
Of course, if you are one to believe in the more outlandish theories about this incident, such as UFO’s riding along behind Elenin and huge brown dwarf planets re-entering the solar system, I guess the jury is still out. So far, they seem to have piggy-backed on the comet and passed us right by. I’m sure they have a terrible, sinister reason for it that they just haven’t revealed to us yet. Stay tuned!
