It’s the kind of news story that you would think would make someone involved, and especially those that politically side with one of these entities, take a moment and go “Well that’s pretty messed up, isn’t it?” Not in America in 2018. Let’s recap the situation.
Back in the 2016 election, WikiLeaks came to the rescue of the American public by revealing in excruciating detail how the Democratic party rigged its primary process to make sure that Bernie Sanders had no chance of defeating Hillary Clinton and becoming their “elected” Presidential candidate. Now millions of Americans gave their hard-earned money to Mr. Sanders campaign, and these allegations which were not even really combatted by the party or Hillary Clinton’s campaign mean that they were basically defrauded on a mass scale. Like Bernie Madoff-style antics. Yet, there was absolutely no investigation into it at all. No one went to jail. No charges. All of a sudden it seemed that the characters on ABC’s Scandal television series were all sweating it about fixing an election for no reason. Apparently you can publicly put the fix in on America’s democratic process, have that revealed to the public, admit it more or less, and everyone just goes on about their business. Incredible, right?
No, it gets better. Meanwhile, Donald Trump’s young Presidency has been plagued by a major investigation into whether or not his campaign somehow colluded with Russia to help him win the election. This investigation is now been going on for multiple years. While a lot of Trump associates are really, really worried, and some may even be going to jail, there is yet to be one shred of evidence that there was any collusion (something Trump repeats over and over) released to the American public. Yet, the investigation rolls on, and the investigation into the publicly-known fixing of the 2016 Democratic Primary remains completely accepted as fair play in American politics.
But wait! It gets better. Now, the Democratic Party is actually attempting to sue the Republican Party in the American legal system for fixing the general election based on no evidence at all whilst knowing and admitting that they fixed their own primary.
You can’t make this stuff up.
Wait. Yeah, you guessed it. It gets better.
The real kicker here is that the Republican Party never wanted Trump either, and instead of being shocked and appalled by what it was revealed that their counterparts across the political aisle were doing, they looked at it like “Man, why didn’t I think of that?” Prediction: Before the 2020 election, the Republican Party will install some sort of superdelegate equivalent to the Democratic Party into their system to make sure that never, ever again can a non-establishment candidate make it past the primary process. They may not be able to stop a true independent, but they can stop an independent from hijacking their party. The Democrats were smarter than that. They thought to fix their primary process to willingly override the will of the American people first.
Now what is that you say about collusion?
