There are a lot of people in this world that were happy to hear the sudden news that Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia was dead. Most of them were Democrats. However, those in conspiracy circles are already spinning their webs trying to indicate that there may be more to Scalia’s death than meets the eye. Most of those couldn’t have told you Scalia’s name prior to his death.
He was a 79-year-old-man. This is not crazy. It happens. Even Supreme Court Justices can just die at any moment, much like other mere mortals. Yes, we are less than a year from swearing in a new commander-in-chief to the United States of America, but it doesn’t matter. What matters is here and now. The Supreme Court is a justice short, and current President Barack Obama, must pick someone to fill that position and keeps the wheels of this old jalopy running. The idea that Republicans have suggested that Obama refrain from picking a justice and let the next President start out with that is ludicrous. Do you think for one second that the Democrats are not going to try to pass through an ultra-liberal justice onto the court to replace conservative legend Scalia? No, sometimes in football you get a fumble when you didn’t really deserve it, and the Democrats just got one when it mattered most. That might suck for the other side, and might even suck for decades to come, but it still is how the game is played.
