Well, it’s pretty simple really. A blood moon is when a lunar eclipse happens and the light comes off with a reddish to brownish hue. Of course, it is a perfectly non-supernatural phenomenon that has a lot more to do with the way the light passes through our atmosphere, but that hasn’t stopped it from becoming a mystical and sometimes controversial phenomenon.
Between the two days of April 14 and April 15 this year, a blood moon will occur that will happen to coincide with the Jewish Passover holidays. It also is the first of four such events that will happen in a fairly short amount of time. This is called a tetrad. The tetrad of blue moons has many crying that the apocalypse is finally here, and this extraordinarily rare sequence of events is heralding it. Depending on your particular religious affiliation, this could mean a number of things. For the Jews, this means final victory is just around the corner. For Christians, it might mean the reappearance of Jesus Christ or even the appearance of the long-awaited Antichrist. If you are an atheist, it probably means you are going to have a lot of fun laughing at a lot of people who are latching on to this latest end of the world scenario.
What will it be? Are you concerned about the blood moon? What does it mean to you? If so, how are you preparing for it? And if you don’t believe in it, how can you be so sure? When was the last time you lived through a tetrad?
