Boys Baseball Team Forfeits State Title Because of a Girl

Our Lady of Sorrows Academy’s boys baseball team has forfeited their Arizona Charter Athletic Association state championship game against Mesa Preparatory Academy. Mesa Prep has a girl that plays second base named Paige Sultzbach. Paige sat out two previous games against Our Lady of Sorrows but she did not want to sit out the state title game. The problem is that Our Lady of Sorrows school mission statement is to teach boys and girls separately. The separation of sexes is a key tenet of the Society of St. Pius X which is a separatist branch of the Catholic Church. Do you agree with Paige’s decision to not sit out the game? Or do you agree with Our Lady of Sorrows mission statement?
