This may or may not be a hoax. Astronomers have tracked a asteroid that they say will hit Antarctica and devastate the already fragile ice shelf. It would be quite a disaster. The suspected impact would be sometime in 2012. The problem is that not much is known about this asteroid. So its wait and see.
